  • Represented a prominent nationwide renewable energy developer in connection with the complete management of the land assembly and title review and policy procurement for a carport solar project in California.

  • Represented a global renewable energy developer in the development of a 100.5 MW wind farm in Stephenson County, Illinois.

  • Represented a prominent nationwide renewable energy developer in the tax equity financing of a 100 MW utility-scale wind project in Kansas.

  • Represented a global renewable energy developer in the development, financing, construction and operation of a 6 MW R&D wind farm in Cedar County, Iowa.

  • Represented a global renewable energy developer in connection with their successful submission to the United States Army $7 billion Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for wind, solar and biomass projects.

  • Represented a global renewable energy developer in the divestiture of an 88 MW wind farm in western Kansas.

  • Represented a global renewable energy developer in connection with the land assembly, construction and financing of a 132 MW wind farm in western Oklahoma.

  • Represented a prominent nationwide renewable energy developer in the simultaneous tax equity financing of two, 210 MW utility-scale wind projects in Kansas.

  • Represented a global renewable energy developer in connection with the land assembly, construction and financing of a 45 MW wind farm in New Brunswick, Canada.

Commercial Real Estate

  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in connection with their entire portfolio of education-related investments, including sale/leaseback and debt transactions across the country valued at over $1B. Representation in these matters included all aspects of the transaction, including negotiation of the transaction documents, related due diligence, land use diligence and closing of transaction.

  • Represented a food-chain supplier in connection with the development of property in the Pacific Northwest for a $250M export grain terminal, with related rail loops, elevators and docks to load ocean-going vessels. This complex transaction includes a 75-year lease, the condemnation of a rail access corridor and a multitude of complex easement documentation for utilities, roadways, railways, storm water, conveyors and restrictive covenants.

  • Represented a real estate equity fund in the acquisition and assemblage of five parcels of real estate in the Southwest adjacent to the casino owned by the Chickasaw Nation, including the purchase and sale agreements, due diligence, closings and construction matters, to be used to construct a 400 room $60M hotel attached to the casino.

  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in connection with the $51M sale/leaseback of an approximate 250,000 sq. ft. office complex in McLean, Virginia. Our representation included all aspects of the transaction, including negotiation of the Purchase and Sale and Lease Agreements, related due diligence, land use diligence and closing of transaction.

  • Represented a major steel producer in the sale of a 41-acre tract of property to an energy company adjacent to its plant, which will be used by the buyer for the construction of a $200M energy plant which will, in turn, be connected to, and provide fuel for, the seller’s plant. The transaction involves not only the sale and related easements, but also a long-term energy supply agreement.

  • Represented a major university as primary real estate counsel, servicing the real estate needs for its 100+ campuses, including lease negotiation and drafting, land use issues and landlord disputes.

  • Represented a developer in connection with a $100M industrial park development in north-central Illinois, including development of applicable covenants, codes and restrictions and transactional advice with regard to lot sales and build-to-suit lease transactions.

  • Represented a Fortune 200 company in connection with various transactions, including leases, acquisitions and dispositions of real property in Arkansas, Connecticut, Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, and the acquisition and construction aspects of a new $50M manufacturing facility in central Mexico.

  • Represented a nationwide restaurant chain in the asset acquisition of a competitor, including 15 locations in 12 states.
